Alta’s 75th Anniversary Ale

Reviewed by Josh

For 75 years now Alta has played host to the greatest ski enthusiasts on the greatest snow on earth.  How does heritage like that celebrate?  With beer, of course; Alta’s 75th Anniversary Ale made by Wasatch Brewery.

I felt like a bottle capper at Shotz Brewery along side Laverne and Shirley.  As the bottles elbowed their way past the crowd of media I had a Nalgene full of Pepsi and milk as a nod to the great actresses of our time, Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams.

Bottom line, we got to see the first run of the 75th Ale come off the line and into six packs for distribution, but the party would not be complete without a taste.  It’s everything you’d expect in a pale ale – tasty yet not intrusive, pleasant with a bit of hops and an IBU of 35.

I highly recommend you seek this one out, apres ski perhaps. The slopes just happen to open on November 16.
