Savor the Summit 2012

Our favorite food event of the year in Utah, Savor the Summit, has come and gone but we enjoyed it to the fullest this year.  We dined at Deer Valley’s Royal Street Cafe and knowing how Deer Valley always does things above and beyond, we knew we’d have a good time!

A long table graces the Main Street in Park City seating guests from the top near Wasatch Brew Pub all the way to the foothill near the Park City Mountain Resort ski lift.  People fill the street excited to be out in the town on such a lively evening as restaurants prepare a special meal for their section of the table.  Since Deer Valley’s restaurants are on the resort slopes, they brought their staff and kitchen equipment to the alleyway near Main and prepared a full meal for us there. We started with the cocktail from Royal Street that won best cocktail this year, Flower & Pine, a blend of Beefeater Gin, St. Germaine Liqueur, Zirbenz Stone Pine Liqueur and Peychaud’s Bitters. As we sipped our cocktail and chatted with our fellow Deer Valley diners we were greeted with several hors d’oeuvres, my favorite being the Royal Street signature gazpacho. We then moved on to a Seared Tuna Tostada with mango avocado salsa served in a crisp corn tortilla. For our main course we enjoyed a pan-seared Beef Fillet from Niman Ranch with royal trumpet mushrooms and fresh farmer’s market peas. And for dessert Back Yard Rhubarb Pizzelle with rhubarb literally picked from several of the chef’s backyard bounty of rhubarb. cocktail of the year in Park City Park City Savor the Summit Deer Valley

As every year, Savor the Summit, swept us off our feet for a magical evening in Park City.
