The New SLCfoodie Website

Reviewed by Becky

First of all I want to start by telling you that the new SLCfoodie website exists primarily to be a resource for you on local food, Salt Lake City restaurant reviews, and interesting people in the food community.  I started this site as a transplant from Texas, in hopes of encouraging other transplants and natives with the great things being offered here in Utah. There’s food for everyone here and with the addition of your comments and recommendations, it will become an even more incredible resource. We all hope you will come here and see many of the great things we are discovering about Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas in Utah.  We also hope you’ll join us in person at one of our SLCmixer gatherings.

Now, how to get around this new site.  The site is beautifully easy to navigate, thanks to our friends Craig and Pedro!  Here’s the basic breakdown for navigation:

Looking for restaurant recommendations? – click on the, “Are you hungry now?” button which right under the logo which will take you to all of the restaurant reviews.

Looking for a specific type or genre of food? – click on the magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner which will take you to a drop down listing all of the types of food we’ve posted about from Thai to Mexican.

Interested in browsing by category? – We also have a few categories you can peruse from there like Long Distance Dinners (restaurants we recommend that are over a 20 minutes drive from Salt Lake City), Local Food News (the latest info on the Salt Lake City dining scene), Local Food Events (an assortment of annual and occasional events surrounding food and beverage), Salt Lake Instagram (food and non-food related photography from locals), The Sidecar (info on the local beverage scene and reviews on pubs and bars), and last but not least SLCmixers (photos and stories behind local food which we’ve highlighted at our slcmixer events).

If you’re more interested in recipes, please visit my blog theVintageMixer.com. And for a list of other local blogs and our Press Section see the footer of this page. Lastly, if you’re not the type to frequent a blog, we send out a monthly SLCfoodie newsletter with information regarding local food, events, and restaurant reviews.

Scouting the city so you can eat and drink better.
