Salt Lake City Downtown Farmer's Market

Downtown Farmers Market in Salt Lake

It’s time!  Get out your cute produce totes, some sun glasses, and some cash because this weekend the Downtown Salt Lake City Farmer’s Market begins. This year marks the 20th anniversary for this beloved market.  More than 250 vendors will be showcasing their produce, prepared goods, packaged foods and artisan creations. And we all have our favorites.  For me, I look forward to the sun-dried cherries sold on the NW corner, the journals made from vintage books, local honey, better yet honey butter, and the plethora of fresh produce from mushrooms to greens.

Avid snowboarders and skiers will be glad to know that something good actually does come from having a mild winter.  Farmers are expecting an early and late harvest this year, which sounds great to me. My garden is already producing a massive amount of oregano and mint, radishes are budding and tomato plants growing tall and strong.

But if you don’t have a garden yourself there’s plenty to go around.  The Downtown Farmer’s Market is open Saturday mornings beginning June 9th, at 8 AM and Tuesday evenings beginning August 7th at 4 PM in Historic Pioneer Park, Downtown Salt Lake City.
